Linellen Press is a small publishing house situated on the outskirts of Perth. Beginning operations in July 2000, its aim is to publish and promote new Western Australian authors. We provide manuscript, editorial and assessment services as well as a range of publishing opportunities.
Current How To Write book titles include The Choice Words Writer's Handbook series - 'Characters - Physical'; 'Characters - Animated'; and 'Surrounds' which guide new writers in the development of fictional characters and creating realistic settings; 'The Book of Challenges' which helps fiction writers unlock writer's block, while for poets 'Everything You Wanted to Know About ... Writing Poetry - Simplified' contains 70 poetry styles from around the world and example poems for those who wish to expand their poetic skills.
In the non-fiction book range 'Gems of Perth' looks at Perth's most popular landmarks in poetry and prose, an ideal publication for tourists; Arthur Leggett's autobiography 'Don't Cry For Me' is a gripping story of his life growing up in Australia and his years as a prisoner of war in German concentration camps; Ena Taylor shares her life and the effects of being the only girl in the Edrich cricketing family in 'Girls Don't Play Cricket', while Marguerite Chesbrough recounts her experiences flying from Houston USA to Sydney Australia in a Mooney light aircraft in "By Compass and By Consolan', a great read for flying enthusiasts and adventurers.
Cookery Titles include 'Going Dutch' by Johanna Lussenburg, economical recipes with a Dutch flavour, and Stella Marie Anderson shares her vegetarian recipes and provides the meat-lovers variation to make meal times easier in 'From Stella's Kitchen - For Herbivores and Carnivores'.
