Dancing With The Devil  




			The mist settling over the waters,
			had descended far too soon;
			where the devil danced to the pipes of Pan
			by the silver light of moon.

			Haunting notes danced by me
			on the chill of the midnight air,
			the devil laughed as he leapt and turned
			to see me dancing there.

			He held me in a love-vice grip,
			began tantalizing me
			with words which dripped of honey
			said: "Come and dance with me."

			I gazed into deep pools of fire,
			my mind reeled, and I ran
			from the devil and the evening dance
			to the plaintive pipes of Pan.

			Now on dark and misty nights
			my heart plays a lonely tune;
			I remember the devil and his dance of love
			by the silver light of moon.
