Book Of Challenges

				How to Use This Book

The Book of Challenges has been compiled for individuals and Writing Groups alike.
It is aimed at challenging the mind with images or snippets of conversation that the
writer must include into either prose or poetry.

Time limits can be posed, which works well if the exercise is done as part of a Writing
Group meeting. If a longer story starts to unfold from the topic, do not finish it simply to
produce a complete story in the set time, leave it unfinished and complete it when time
permits. This is what the Book of Challenges is all about — producing useable stories
	or poems that sell.

	The book is divided into three sections:  Writing Categories; Topics For Your Creativity;
	and Writing Exercises.

When using Writing Categories select a category from the A-Z list and write a story or
poem on that subject. It can be fiction or fact. Using your pencil to stab a category (with
your eyes closed, of course) heightens the excitement of random selection. When really
stumped for a starting point, turn to Topics For Your Creativity. Select a challenge and
incorporate that image or statement in the topic selected from Categories. You'll be
	surprised what you can achieve.

	Sample Challenge:

	35.	Write a story about Christmas involving:-
			a)	a rich family
			b)	a poor family
			c)	a family whose mother is critically ill
			d)	a family whose dog is missing
			e)	animals gathering in the bush
			f)	a bitter storm and a road crash
			g)	reindeers in the desert
